Project Eye Candy

Project "Eye Candy" was a collaborative student project which I worked on with 2 of my classmates. The objective for the project was to find a way to collaborate and work around each others skills.

The mech was based on Aaron De Leon's concept https://www.artstation.com/ig-515

Joshua Lay was responsible for the modeling and animation of the mech https://www.artstation.com/layua
Layla Viscu was responsible for the environment and simulation https://www.artstation.com/paper_crane
And I was responsible for the texturing, material making, rigging of the mech and compositing of the shot.

We thought of recreating a Titanfall style landing for the mech since that would highlight each of our skills, a close up of the mech for Joshua's modeling skills, my material and compositing skills and Layla's environment making and simulation skills.

Initial metal underlayer was too shiny and so I edited it out to be less reflective.

Grading board reference. I was gonna go for a Desert Storm kind of feel to it and even Black Hawk Down where it's quite grainy and had harsh contrasts.
